Blood is carried through the body via what?
Via blood vessels.
What are the three main types of blood vessels?
The arteries, capillaries and veins.
What does Arteries do?
Carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart.
What are Arterioles?
Branch off from the ends of arteries and carry blood to capillaries.
What are Capillaries?
The smallest and thinnest of the blood vessels and also the most common.
What does Capillaries do (1st)?
Connect to arterioles on one end and venules on the other.
What does Capillaries do (2nd)?
Carry blood very close to the cells in order to exchange gases, nutrients and waste products.
What are Venules?
Small vessels that pick up from the capillaries and deposit it into larger veins for transport back to the heart.
What does veins do?
