A

As there are two hydrogens reacting , need to do mass / 4! (2 hydrogens per fusion)

For uranium as it is 1 uranium per fission do mass / mr of uranium

A

Needed to be brought to small distances so that string nuckear force can attract as thid only attracts from small distances

However small distances the electrostatic force of repulsion is huge due to them bith havign protoms

So large ke and thus temp needed by EQUATUIN 1.5kt to cause it to happen.

Why when a proton wamte to join itself with a nucleus must it be HIGH SPEED

A

Thin about the path of the proton - this is basically mini fusion
- the proton needs to get close enough to the nucleus to experience the string nucleus firce.
- however iver small distances the electrostatic force of repulsion is very strong.
- so to overcome this, the proton must have a lot of ke such that it can be in the proximity of the attractive string nucleus rather force
