Medicines derived from plants.
Nutraceutical products
Food or fortified food products that not only supplement the diet but also assist in treating or preventing disease (apart from anemia).
Anti-infectants
Drugs that can either kill an infectious agent or inhibit it from spreading. They include antibiotics, antibacterials, antifungals, antivirals, and antiproatozoans.
Antineoplastics
Anticancer drugs that affect the process of cell division. They prevent the growth and spread of neoplastic cells, but also affect rapidly developing normal cells. This can result in suppressed growth, impaired healing, sterility, and hair loss.
Cardiovascular Agents
Drugs that are used to treat conditions of the heart of the circulatory or vascular system.
Central Nervous System Agents
Affect the brain and spinal cord, producing responses that alleviate a number of medical conditions. They can be used as analgesics, anesthetics, anti-emetics, anti-convulsants, etc.
Coagulation Modifiers
Drugs that act on the blood coagulation pathway in different places to prevent or promote clot formation. Those that prevent are anticoagulants, antiplatelet drugs, and thrombolytic drugs. Thos that promote clot formation are fibrinolytics.
