the intrusion of the law into consensual activities that are relatively harmless to the actors and society
harm principle

moral absolutism
a philosophical perspective that holds that certain actions are absolutely right or wrong, regardless of other circumstances such as their consequences or the intentions behind them
moral relativism
a perspective on the nature of morality asserting that norms or standards of behavior are not fixed or absolute
legalization
the removal of an existing prohibition against something that is currently unlawful
decriminalization
the removal of criminal penalties, through fines may still apply
