What is the primary goal of Stakeholder Management?
To manage the expectations that drive stakeholder satisfaction.
Stakeholders need to be identified and have their needs understood before they are managed. They should be communicated with and involved at the proper level through the life of the project.

What is a stakeholder?
Anyone with an interest in the project. That interest may be positive or negative. Anyone who creates or causes a need, is affected by the need, or would be affected by the solution.
Think of stakeholders as strategic partners, working collaboratively towards the success of the project.
When is Identify Stakeholders performed?
After Develop Project Charter, and as needed throughout the life cycle of the project (often whenever a new project phase is began).

What are the three main sections of a Stakeholder Register?
Stakeholder Identification - Name, title, and project role
Stakeholder Assessment - What their needs are and when those needs are expected to arise in the life of the project
Stakeholder Classification - Logical grouping of stakeholders in a way that makes communication easier
A stakeholder register may be published or kept in reserve for the project manager’s use only.
What is the goal of Plan Stakeholder Engagement?
Determine how to relate to the stakeholders and what stakeholder involvement will be in all aspects of the project.
should be performed very early in the project, to avoid marginalizing and alientating stakeholders

Charts the current and desired states of project stakeholders (unaware, resistant, neutral, supportive, leading).
What does it mean to Manage Stakeholder Engagement?
Using change and issue logs as a means to ensure the right stakeholders are involved at the right level and in the right way.
What impacts Stakeholder satisfaction?
Product quality
but equally important - where they happy with the way the project was conducted, whether or not they were properly involved, and whether or not they had a voice.
PM should check in regulary to see what their goals and concerns are, what information they need and how they want to receive information.
