Chapter 12 (Module 12.6) Flashcards
Largest right and left tracts that control the muscles below the head and neck via the motor neurons of the spinal nerves.
Corticospinal tracts
Control the muscles of the head and neck via the lower motor neurons of the cranial nerves.
Corticonuclear tracts
A group of neurons selected to perform a given action.
Motor program
Damage to the cerebellum makes fluid , well-coordinated nearly impossible instead movements are jerky and inaccurate.
Cerebellar antaxia
Damage to any component of the basal nuclei; the inability to to initiate voluntary movement making simple activities such as walking or talking difficult and the inability in inhibit inappropriate involuntary movements like blinking or throat clearing.
Movement disorder
The correction of motor error by the cerebellum.
