in addition to layoffs another, too, used to downsize companies is to offer early retirement benefits to make older workers retire, this would give new workers the opportunity to grow in the company
why would losing employees help career management?
learning about their reason for leaving can be valuable in preventing the loss of other good people in the future, this would help people feel comfortable in their career and to grow their career path
