Authoritarian parents
controlling, punitive, rigid, cold, word is law and they value strict obedience from their children
Permissive Parent
provide lax and inconsistent feedback, requiring little of their children, and not seeing themselves as holding much responsibility for how their children turn out
Authoritative parents
firm, setting clear and consistent limits, loving and emotionally supportive, encourage their children to be independent
uninvolved parents
show no interest in their children, displaying indifferent, rejecting behavior, can result in neglect
supportive parenting
includes parental warmth, teaching, calm discussion, and interest in and involvement in children’s peer activities.
