What is polysubstance dependence?
A person who is psychologically addicted to being in an intoxicated state with no preference of substance
Abuse vs dependence?
Abuse:
Fail role obligations
use substances in physically hazardous situations
Continue use despite persistent social or interpersonal problems
Dependence:
Take large amounts over a long period of time
Want to cut down but are unable to
Give up on or reduce social activities
Continue use despite awareness of physical/ psych problems

What are the various types of treatments for substance abuse and dependence?
Medically assisted detoxification,
Medication to help with withdrawal paired with counselling/BT
