Sexual dysfunction
find it difficult to function adequately while having sex; for example, they may not become aroused or achieve orgasm
paraphilic disorders
sexual arousal occurs primarily in the context of inappropriate objects or individuals.
if they cause distress of impairment to the individual, or cause personal harm, or the risk of harm to others its called a paraphilic disorder
gender dysmorphia
incongruence and psychological distress that dissatisfaction with the gender one has been assigned at birth (boy or girl)
male hypoactive sexual disorder and female sexual interest and arousal disorder
little or not interest in any type of sexual activity
erectile disorder
a specific disorder of arousal, whereas the problem is not desire, the problem is in becoming PHYSICALLY aroused
delayed ejaculation
males who achieve orgasm only with great difficulty or not at all meet criteria
female orgasmic disorder
struggle or can’t reach orgasm
premature ejaculation
ejaculation occurs well before the man and his partner wish to
genito-pelvic pain/penetration disorder
a sexual dysfunction specific to women refers to difficulties with penetration during attempted intercourse or significant pain during intercourse
vaginismus
the pelvic muscles in the router third of the vagina undergo involuntary spasms when intercourse is attempted
erotophobia
learned negative reaction to or attitude about sexual activity, perhaps developed as a result of a negative or even traumatic event, such as rape
fetishistic disorder
sexual attraction to nonliving objects
voyeuristic disorder
is the practice of observing, to become aroused, an unsuspecting individual or naked
exhibition disorder
achieving sexual arousal and gratification by exposing genitals to unsuspecting strangers
transvestic disorder
sexual arousal associated with the act of dressing in clothes of the opposite sex, or co-dressing
