Q
5 Reasons Psychology is Complicated ( CRIMM )
A
[CRIMM]
- *Cultural Differences**: like individual differences, place limits on what can be generalized from one human to the next.
- *Reciprocal Determinism**: we mutually influence each other’s behaviour - makes it hard to pinpoint causes of behaviour.
- *Individual Differences**: Variations among people in thinking, emotion, personality, & behaviour.
- *Multiple Determination**: Behaviours determined by many factors, not a single-variable explanation (common in pop psych).
- *Multicollinearity**: Influences rarely occur independent of each other - it’s hard to pin down what cause(s) are operating.
