What is primary prevention?
Activities that help prevent the disease from starting in the first place

What is secondary prevention?
Trying to prevent the disease from becoming full blown
Ex: catching imbalances through lab values
What is tertiary prevention?
The disease has already happend. Trying to prevent it from getting worse.
Ex: Diabetes
Health literacy?
Is the ability to understand basic health concepts and apply to one’s own health decisions
