How is Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé made?
Via a hybrid maceration process. Pinot Noir grapes are cold soaked in Chardonnay juice for one week. Coloured Chardonnay juice is drained off, the Pinot Noir grapes are pressed, and the juice from the two grapes is combined. Then acidic Chardonnay juice is added and the temperature increased to start 1st fermentation. 20% Is fermented in 9,000 litre used French oak foudres.
