What does depressing a Transmitter Selector switch do?
It selects the related communication system for transmissions
Deselects the previous system
Also selects the system for reception
Which ACP switch keys the mask or boom microphone for direct transmission over the flight interphone?
The push to talk switch pressed into the I/C position
Pushing the upper half of the control wheel PTT switch activates which transmitter?
Activates the 02 mask or boom mic for transmission over the radio
What does the Service Interphone switch do?
It activates external headset jacks for communication with MX or service personnel
What ACP switch position is required to transmit over the PA with the PA handset on the AFT control stand?
Automatically connected to the system. Bypasses ACP.
When does the Flight deck call (blue) light illuminate?
When the flight deck is being called by the FAs or ground crew
What does pressing the GRD CALL switch do?
Sounds a horn that is located in the nose wheel well. Continuous until released
Normally, to call the flight attendants, which switch is used?
The Attendant (ATTEND) call switch. Two tone chime, both pink master call light illuminate
Which radio defaults to Data on power up and power down?
VHF 3
What does an illuminated offside tuning light (white) on the radio tuning panel (RTP) indicate?
The radio normally associated with this panel is being tuned by another RTP or the RTP is being used to tune another radio
What is accomplished by pushing the VHF TEST button?
Removes the automatic squelch feature allowing reception of background noise to test the receiver
What is the meaning of the INOP and PANEL FAIL displays on the Radio Tuning Panel?
- Inop: Selected radio not available
- Panel Fail: RTP has failed
Can you receive calls with an illuminated SELCAL light on the SELCAL panel?
No. Must use the reset switch before another call can be received.
Which Audio Control panel controls the cabin MEDLINK headset jack?
The observer (jumpseat) ACP. Works exactly like plugging in a jumpseater headset
On the ground, which radio does the ACARS use to transmit and receive messages?
