Ch.12 (Fuel) Flashcards
Fuel
What is the indication that the Nitrogen Generator System (NGS) is not operating?
The Amber light on the NGS operability panel in the main wheel well
What does the LOW (amber) fuel alert indicate?
Main tank fuel is less than 2000lbs for more than 30 seconds
When does the CONFIG (amber) alert display?
Center tank fuel is greater than 1600lbs and both CTR fuel pump switches are off and either engine is running
What does the IMBAL (amber) alert mean?
MaIn tank fuel quantities differ by greater than 1000lbs for greater than 60 seconds
Why is center tank fuel burned first even though all fuel pumps are running?
Higher fuel pump out put pressure in the center tank
Will the LOW PRESSURE light (amber) illuminate if a main tank FUEL PUMP switch is placed to off?
Yep
The center tank fuel pump switches are on. What does a CTR PUMP LOW PRESSURE light (amber) indicate? Will the pump shut off?
The center tank pumps are providing 22psi or less. The pump will auto shut off
When do the fuel annunciator and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate for a Center tank fuel pump low pressure light?
Approx. 10 seconds after a continuous low pressure signal has been detected
What is the purpose of the crossfeed valve?
To provide crossfeeding. Fuel from one tank is accessible to both engines
What does a Crossfeed VALVE OPEN light (bright blue) indicate?
Crossfeed valve is in transit or positon disagrees with selected position
What can suction feed from the NO. 1 main tank? The No. 2 main tank?
Each engine can suction feed from its CORRESPONDING main tank.
Where is the fueling receptacle?
under the right wing
What closes both the spar fuel shutoff valve and the engine fuel shutoff valve?
- Fire switch is pulled
- Start lever placed to CUTOFF
What does the ENG VALVE CLOSE (bright blue) light indicate? When would you expect to see it?
Valve position disagrees with engine start lever position. During engine start
