Ch.13 (Hydraulics) Flashcards
Hydraulics
Where are the hydraulic systems fluid reservoirs located?
Main wheel well area
What pressurizes the system A and B reservoirs?
By regulated bleed air
What pressurizes the standby system reservoir?
Pressure from Hyd system B
When do the letters RF (white) appear?
When HYD quantity is below 76% (REFILL). Indication is only valid when on the ground,
no engines running or after landing with flaps up during taxi in
What does the ELEC 2 pump ON/OFF switch control?
Controls the related electric motor driven pump
What happens when an ENG hydraulic pump switch is turned off?
Closes the blocking valve. Pressure maintained by electric motor driven pump
What is normal hydraulic system pressure? Max pressure?
- Nominal: 3000 +/- 200PSI
- Max: 3500PSI
What does the OVERHEAT (amber) light on the hydraulic panel indicate?
Electric pump overheat
- What is the purpose of the PTU?
To provide HYD SYS B fluid at a flow rate and pressure that is sufficient to provide
normal operation of the autoslats and Leading Edge devices in the event the HYD SYS B ENG driven pump fails to provide sufficient pressure
Does System A or B pressure loss alone cause automatic operation of the standby hydraulic system?
No
What could cause automatic operation of the standby hyd system?
Must have flaps extended and be airborne or wheel speed greater than 60 kts with
respective FLT CONTROL switch positioned ON
Which switches activate the standby system for operation of the rudder and thrust reversers?
The FLT CONTROL switches placed to STBY RUD
What does the STANDBY HYD LOW QUANTITY (amber) light indicate?
Standby reservoir quantity less than 50%
