a psychological construct related to a compendium of thoughts, actions and feelings
What are personality disorders?
personality pattern is deviated significantly from expectations of culture and society of various ways
When are personality disorders diagnosed?
typically begin in late adolescence or early adulthood
What are the four personality theories?
-psychodynamic personality
-Behaviorist

What is the psychodynamic personality theory?
The study of the client’s conscious and subconscious states
What is the behaviorist personality theory?
one’s behaviour can be learned and responses to situations can be met with either reward or consequence
What social cognitive personality theory?
emphasis on the importance of the environment in shaping learned behavior
What do humanistic personality theory?
Focuses on identifying the strength of an individual and helping him or her to build on those

-Schizoid: Detachment from social relationships and restricted emotional range
-While schizotypal might crave these relationships but people don’t match there freak
-Really strong emotions/high social anxiety
-may experience distorted perceptions

-Detachment from social relationships and restricted emotional range
-does not experience unusual beliefs or perceptions
-indifferent to praise or criticism
