Population
set of individuals within a species living in the same place at the same time.
Density
Number of individuals per unit area.
Dispersion
The arrangment of individuals in a certain area.
Growth Rate
The percentage change in a populations growth.
Reproductive Potential
The maximum number of offspring that each member of the population can produce.
Exponential Growth
Populations grow and continuously grow and don’t stop.
Carrying Capacity
Where birth and death rates are the same.
Niche
The conditions where a species can survive.
Competition
Different individuals or populations attempt to use the same limited resource.
Predation
Where an animal preys on another animal.
Parasitism
The relationship between the parasite and the host.
Mutualism
A relationship where each benefits from each other.
Commensalism
When one individual doesn’t benefit or is affected during a relationship.
Symbiosis
A relationship where two species live in close association.
