Ch. 7 Conduct of Perfusion Flashcards
Volume Concentration Formula
V1 x C1 = V2 x C2
C= hematocrit
Max acceptable leakage from HLM/equipment
100 microamps
Swan Ganz Catheter pathway
inserted into internal jugular = RA = Pa
Cerebral BF is autoregulated at MAPs of
> 60 mmHg
Goal MAP on bypass
60-90 mmHg
What temperature causes less platelets dysfunction
normothermia
BF percentage to Brain, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung
Brain= 15% Heart= 4-5%- extracts 70% O2 Kidney= 27 %- first organ to receive low BF Liver= 29% Lung= 2%
Good Renal Function
**.5-1 ml/kg/hour or 1 mL per minute
check 15 min on CPB- if no urine at 30 min= give mannitol or lasix .25 mg/kg
CPG pressures
- Antegrade= 150 line pressure, 50 at aorta
- Retrograde= 500 at coronary sinus
- temp < 15 C
- Dose 10 ml/kg
- *test XC occlusion- when flows down and giving CPG- CPG pressures should not drop
Rewarming Gradient Adult vs Peds
12 C -adults
8 C- peds and circ arrest
HCT goal on CPB
22-29%
-this is lower than normal, but allows better flow through capillaries (arterioles close at 20 mmHg)
