Resupply, Retraining, Refit, Reassign, & Release
Ability
The product of aptitude multiplied by training and opportunity.
Ability = Aptitude x Training x Resources.
Motivation
The product of desire multiplied by commitment.
Motivation = Desire x Commitment.
Performance
The product of ability multiplied by motivation.
Performance = Ability x Motivation
Expertise
Cognitive ability resulting from formal training and education or from on-the-job experience.
The need for power
An expressed desire for control, or influence, over others.
The need for affiliation
The second of Murray’s needs; it involves relying on other individuals in order to feel reassured and acceptable. It is defined as an expressed desire for social relations.
The need for achievement
An expressed desire for accomplishment and recognition. It is defined as an individual’s personal “competition with a standard of excellence.”
The need for control
The desire to maintain for oneself a satisfactory balance of power and influence in relationships.
