What is the proper of the saints?
Mary and the saints are celebrated on variety feast days throughout the year
What are the 4 types of prayers?
4 types are petition, adoration, contrition, and thanksgiving
What vows do member of religious orders take?
A life consecrated to God. They do this through vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
How does revelation show Mary´s queenship?
Revelation shows Mary in heaven clothed with the sun and crowned with 12 stars. Mary embodies the church in her full glory in heaven.
What are the three expressions of prayer?
Vocal, meditation, contemplation
How does Jesus model prayer in gospels?
Throughout Gospels Jesus models different types of prayer. These include vocal to silent, formal prayers to prayers of the heart, and prayers from scripture.
What does it mean that the sacraments are ex opere operator?
It means sacraments dispense the grace it signifies. It does not depend on holiness of minister but on the Work of Christ.
What is the liturgical year?
Calendar of the church. We celebrate various mysteries of the life of Christ.
What is the common priesthood of the Faithful?
By virtue of our baptism, we all share in the common priesthood of the faithful. This is different than ministerial priesthood.
What are popular devotions?
Rosary, Chaplets, Novenas
Why is Mary the Mother of the Church?
Mary is the mother of Jesus. When Jesus entrusted Mary to John, he was giving her to be the mother of the church.
What is prayer?
Conversation with God. It is meant to raise our hearts and mind to him and be united with him.
What are sacramentals?
A sacred sign that bears a certain resemblance to the sacramental. The means of which the spiritual effects are signified and obtained through disposition.
What is the purpose of Lent?
The 40 days of penance beginning on Ash Wednesday. It prepares us for Christ´s death and resurrection.
How does the liturgy participates in Christ´s three offices?
The church participated in Christ exercise of priest, prophet, and king. By building the kingdom, offering praise to God and instituting the faithfuls
