- Offers conflicting, unconvincing, or no explanation for child’s injury
- Desccribes child as evil or some negative way, belittles or berates
- Uses harsh physical discipline with the child
- Has a Hx of abuse as a child
- Has a Hx of abusing animals/pets

What are sign of child sexual abuse?
- Has difficulty walking or sitting
- Suddenly refuses to change for gym or to participates in physical activities
- Reports nightmares
- Bedwetting
- Sudden change in appetite
- Demonstrates bizarre, sophisticated, or unusual sexual knowledge or behavior
- Runs away
- Becomes pregnant/contracts STD
What are parental signs that they may be abusing a child?
Unduly protective of the child or severely limits the child’s contact with other children, especially of the opposite sex.

Is jealous and controlling with family members.
What is a common form of therapy used with children who are too young to express themselves clearly?
