a highly contagious sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacteria Haemophilus ducreyi, which causes painful sores like ulcers, usually of the genitals
chancroid
a sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis
chlamydia
a small, cylindrical mass of erectile tissue and nerves located at the anterior junction of the labia minora similar to the glans penis of the male
clitoris
a device used to prevent pregnancy
contraceptive disease
a herpesvirus that can produce the symptoms of prolonged high fever, chills, headache, malaise, extreme fatigue and an enlarged spleen
cytomegalovirus (CMV)
abnormal vaginal bleeding that is irregular and is not caused by pregnancy, tumor, or infection

fallopian tube
a drug used to facilitate date rape; is colorless with a salty taste disguised when mixed with a drink; called Georgia home boy, grievous bodily harm, easy lay, G, scoop, liquid x, soap and salty water
gamma-hydroybutyric acid (GHB)
an infection caused by a bacterium that normally resides in the genital area in women but that can cause infection if the bacteria become too numerous; signs and symptoms include a vaginal odor that may be fishy, itching, irritation, and possibly a smooth thin sticky white or gray discharge
Gardnerella vaginitis
an infection of the genitals buttocks, or anal area caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) which can cause sores of the genitals, mouth or lips
genital herpes
warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease and also called condylomata acuminata or venereal warts
genital warts
an STD caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae
gonorrhea
a term used to describe the number of times a woman has been pregnant
gravida
blood in the peritoneal cavity
hemoperitoneum
a membrane that protects the vaginal orifice before first intercourse
hymen
menstrual blood flow that lasts several days longer than it should or flow that is abnormally excessive
hypermenorrhea
a situation in which the hymen completely covers the vaginal orifice
imperforate hymen
a drug used for date rape and is marketed as a veterinary anesthetic; names include special K, vitamin K, cat Valium, and Fort Dodge
ketamine hydrochloride
outer fleshy lips covered with pubic hair that protect the vagina
labia majora
inner fleshy lips devoid of pubic hair that protect the vagina

the area between the vaginal opening and the anus

menstrual blood flow that occurs more often than a 24 day interval
polymenorrhea
a cluster of all or some of the troubling symptoms that occur during a woman’s menstrual phase that can include fluid retention, breast pain, and tenderness, headache, severe cramping, and emotional changes, including agitation, irritability, depression and anger
premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
in the anatomy of the female genitalia, a layer of skin directly above the clitoris
prepuce
a condition in which the uterus moves or drops into the vagina due to weakened pelvic muscles and connective tissues
prolapsed uterus
the first phase of the uterine cycle and marks the time after menstruation and before the next ovulation occurs. the uterine lining increases in thickness in preparation to receive a fertilized oocyte
proliferative phase

sexual intercourse inflicted forcibly on another person against the person’s will
rape
a benzodiazepine used to facilitate date rape and can create memory loss; street names include roofies, roof, roachies, rocha, and Mexican Valium
rohypnol
a fluid filled sac within the ovary that bursts from internal pressure
ruptured ovarian cyst
the second phase of the uterine cycle and is the time after ovulation until menstruation and occurs when the oocyte is not fertilized
secretory phase
an attack against a person that is sexual in nature, called rape
sexual assault
an STD caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, which manifests in threes stages: primary, secondary and late and is transmitted through direct contact with open sores
syphilis
a form of septic shock used by streptococcus pyogenes (group A strep) or Staphylococcus aureus, initial symptoms include syncope, myalgia, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, fever and sore throat
toxic shock syndrome (TSS)
a parasitic infection
trichomoniasis
an infectious mass growing within the ovaries and fallopian tubules
tuba-ovarian abscess
the muscular organ where the fetus grows and called the womb. It is found between the urinary bladder and rectum
uterus
the lower portion of the birth canal, and serves as the passage for menstrual flow and receptacle of the penis during sexual intercourse

an infection caused by the fungus, Candida albicans, in which fungi overpopulate the vagina

an inflammation of the vagina that is caused by an infection

a cleft between the labia minora, where the urethral opening (orifice), the vaginal opening (orifice) and the hymen are located

an inflammation of the external vulva
