Work Team
Group whose efforts result in greater performance than the sum of the individual inputs
Work Group
Group that interacts to share information and make decisions to help members perform
Problem-Solving Teams
Groups from the same department who meet to discuss ways of improving quality, efficiency, & the work environment
Self-Managed Work Teams
Groups who take on responsibilities of their former supervisors
Cross-Functional Teams
Employees from about the same hierarchical level, but from different work areas, who come together to accomplish a task
Virtual Teams
Teams that use computer technology to tie together physically dispersed members to achieve a common goal
Multiteam System
Collection of two or more interdependent teams that share a superordinate goal; a team of teams
Organizational Demography
The degree to which members of a work unit share a common demographic attribute, such as age, race, sex, education, etc., and the impact of this on turnover
Reflexivity
A team reflects on and adjusts the master plan when necessary
Mental Models
Team members’ knowledge & beliefs about how the work gets done by the team
