structure
flat body, segmented, fettuccine, without body cavity, strobili (body), with head, neck, proglottids (segments), head: scolex with 4 suckers or bothria, no alimentary canal (nutrients absorbed through cuticle)
hermaphrodite
each proglottid- M & F independent, ends are sexually mature & break off, eggs released through genital pore
indirect life cycle
IH- larval, FH- adult
several types of larval stage but
each cestode species only 1 larval stage

contains egg, released

scolex, adult in final host, segments in feces, eggs released from proglottids, eggs consumed by IH (pig), consumed by FH (human), adults not a problem but larvae are
