Q

where is tight junction found and what is its function

A
  • between lateral membrane
  • prevents materials leaking between cells - has to go through cell
  • prevents exchange of intrinsic proteins and lipids

Q

where is gap junction found and what is its function

A
  • between cells that need to act together eg cardiac myocyte
  • small ions can pass through so electrical activity can be coordinated
