where is tight junction found and what is its function
A
- between lateral membrane
- prevents materials leaking between cells - has to go through cell
- prevents exchange of intrinsic proteins and lipids

A
- between cells that need to act together eg cardiac myocyte
- small ions can pass through so electrical activity can be coordinated
