What is differenciation?
Differentiation is the process by which a cell changes to become specialised for it’s job.
What are sperm cells specialised for and what is their function?
The sperm cell is specialised for reproduction and its function is to get the male DNA to the female DNA.
What are nerve cells specialised for what is their function?
The nerve cell is specialised for rapid signalling and its function is to send electric signals from one part of the body to another.
What are the muscle cells specialised for and what is their function?
The muscle cell is specialised for contraction and it’s function is to contract quickly.
What are the root hair cells specialised for?
The root hair cell is specialised for absorbing water and minerals from the soil.
What are xylem and phloem specialised for?
They are specialised for transporting substances around the plant.
