Cell Biology Flashcards
What is prophase (mitosis) ?
Chromosomal material condenses to form a compact mitotis chromosone.
Spindle formation
Nuclear membrane starts to break down.
What is metaphase?
Chromosomes and their copies line up in the middle of the cell
What is interphase?
The DNA in chromosones copies itself ready for mitosis
What is anaphase?
Chromosones are pulled to different ends of the cell
What is telophase?
New membarnes form around the chromosomes at each end of the cell
What is cytokinesis?
The cell membrane forms that makes 2 daughter cells
What are the stages of mitosis?
Prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase
What is prometaphase?
The nuclear membrane breaks down allowing the microtubules to attach to the chromosomes
