X is caused by Y merely on the bases that Y occurred after X. Might be necessary but it’s not sufficient

A
Same as post hoc ergo etc but here there is a link between things that is mistakenly taken for cuase

A
If lack of this causes x, does not mean that the presence of that thing causes the opposite of x
