what is abortion?
Abortion is the medical induced removal of a foetus from the womb before it can survive.
Abortion in the UK
Abortion is legal up to 24 weeks in england and has been since 1967.
People must have a reason to get an abortion such as their mental health will be negatively affected, or the baby would be born with a severe physical or mental disability.
What does the Catholic Church teach?
The catholic church is against abortion in all situations as it believes that life was created by God. As life is a gift from God it is not ours to do what we want with.

What does the Catholic church teach about life saving treatment?
They do not allow life saving treatment if the intention is to save the mother e.g removing the womb to treat cancer.
how will this change a catholics life?
Catholics will campaign for people to be supported with their pregancies and children though better parentign support like parenting classes or for adoption to be encouraged as an alternative to those thinking about having an abortion
