Strengths of case studies
A
- in-depth, qualitative results in realism
- holistic approach, depth and detail is very valid and reflects a persons experience
- research might not exist if case study’s didn’t occur as they are often used t investigate unusual/ extreme behaviour which cant be replicated due to ethical reasons

Weaknesses of case study’s
A
- social desirability bias, make themselves look good for interviewer
- inaccurate - based on memories
- cannot be generalised - one person experience and behaviour may be due to other factors
- lacks reliability - cannot be replicated
- researcher bias - researcher decided what to include/exclude when writing up potentially only including data that confirms a bias
