what does normal large intestine have
more plasma cells at top of crypt, more on right
what do you see in acute colitis?
oedema, active inflammation neutrophil polymorphonuclear cells, absence of paneth cell hyperplasia, no fibrosis, no ulcer associated cell lineage, retention of normal crypt architecture
features of chronic colitis?
distortion of crypt architecture, loss of inflammatory gradient, basal plasmacytosis, paneth cell and neuroendocrine hyperplasia, ulcer associated lineage and fibrosis
what is contraindicated in pregnancy?
ACEi and ARBs
what is highly teratogenic?
isotretinoin
