What are the 5 steps of CPR?
A
1) Check for responsiveness
2) Check if the patient is breathing for 5-10 seconds
3) Perform CPR
4) If patient is breathing normally, lay on their side to keep airway clear
5) Check for other injuries and treat as necessary. Keep warm, calm and reassured.

How do you perform CPR?
A
- Remove clothing on chest.
- Interlock hands and place heal on lower half of breast bone
- Deliver first set of 30 compressions (2 inches deep rate of 100 per minute)
- Give 2 breaths using mask or barrier device (if not mouth-to-mouth or return tocompressions)
- Complete 5 cycles or 30 compressions and 2 breaths (about 2 minutes)
- Reassess breathing and continue if necessary
- Swap rescuers every 5 cycles if available
