secreting high levels of serotonin (5-HT)
Most common tumor of appendix
(not seen if tumor limited to GI, since first pass by liver)

A
Diarrhea
Cutaneous flushing
Asthmatic wheezing
Right sided valvular disease (endocardial thickening)

A
Increase 5-HIAA in urine Niacin deficiency (because its precursor tryptophan converted to serotonin)

A
Somatostatin analog (ocreotide)
