this carbon is used to make glucose which makes proteins, fats and carbs
carbon returns to atmosphere as carbon dioxide when these plants and algae respire
when plants and algae are eaten by animals, carbon from plants and algae becomes part of the carbs, fats and protein in their body
just like plants, animals respire which releases carbon back into atmosphere as co2
animals release waste products and eventually all animals and plants die which leaves us with carbon in waste products and in dead remains
waste products and dead remains are broken down by decomposing microorganisms
when decomposers respire, carbon is released back into the atmosphere
carbon is released back into atmosphere during combustion of wood and fossil fuels
