endotheliochorial, zonary, deciduate. marginal hematomas present. iron source for fetus. green pigment on placenta is uteroverdin. if seen , EMERGENCY. premature placental separation.

A

fetus- 1 month after LH peak. harder after 35 days, vesicle elongates.

ultrasound

A

useful at 3-4 weeks after LH peak. use bladder as landmark. not a vesicle. not useful in counting number of feti. heartbeat at 23-25d after LH peak. normal is >180bpm. stress decreases it. detect fetal death, mummification, fluid, pyometra, endometrial cysts, anembryonic sacs.

relaxin

A

used for pregnancy diagnosis. produced by placenta. 21-22 days post breeding. check again in one week if not there initially. or check once 28d post LH peak

late gestation fro litter size. connecting skull to spine. calcify skulls at 45d post LH. dont go by enlarged uterus. can be pyometra not pregnancy. not definitive. teeth calcify at 63 days. not recommended at early because radiation and not useful. last week of gestation for count
