Q

When dilute acid is added, what is expected of the reactions?

A

The reaction rate is indicated by the speed of the hydrogen bubbles given off. Copper is less reactive than hydrogen so will not produce a squeaky pop in the burning splint test which indicates hydrogen.
The more reactive the metals, the fast the reaction.
Sodium is explosive.
