Q

What would a diagram look like representing Nitrogen as a covalent,
as a step-by-step process?

A
  • Dot and Cross diagram would be used
  • Find the group number for Nitrogen = Group 5
  • Draw five crosses on one circle and five dots on the other
  • Then criss cross the circles together, like a link
  • Then use this technique,group 7 = -1 group 6 = -2 group 5=-3
  • Because nitrogen is group 5 it would be -3,then draw 3 OF EACH in the middle space three crosses and three dots combined and mixed.
  • Repeat this process for any of these type of questions.
