1
Q

Q

How do you determine ion based on position in periodic table?

A
The electronic structure is present in Group 1,2,3,,5,6,7,
It always is (2,8) but the last number is determined by Group
Group 1 = +1 (2,8,1)
Group 2 = +2 (2,8,2)
Group 3 = +3 (2,8,3)
Group 7 = -1 (2,8,7)
Group 6 = -2 (2,8,6)
Group 5 = -3 (2,8,5)
Group 0 = no charge,dont ionize.

Q

What is an ionic lattice?

A

Ionic Compounds are Ions which are repeated into a compund form
(+-)
The Ionic Lattice is the repeating arrangement formed because of Ions int eh first place (+-)
