- measure beach profile - tape measure, ranging poles
- systematic sampling of the beach profile every 500m
- speed of LSD - go biscuit, tape measure, stop watch

- LSD pace of 0.75m in west direction

- only went one day in winter - pace of LSD inaccurate
- lots of trampling in area - sand hight inaccurate
- huge storm week before - sand height inaccurate
