BENEFITS
- cheaper - more economically sustainable
- more space - more can be built for a cheap price of land
- attractive - pretty, no traffic, no pollution, no congestion
DRAWBACKS
- countryside built on - 4000 hectares a year - by removing woodland/ draining wet lands and destroying farm land - leads to reduction in biodiversity, more co2 in atmosphere, floods etc
- urban sprawl - coutryside being ruduced

- road networks and infrastructure built in - no extra roads needed to be built, easy access to stuff
