What are the clincial symptoms of Buerger’s disease (Thromboangiitis Obliterans)
Pale, blue, hands and feet; they may tingle or be painful. They will be cold.
Who is at most risk for diease? Buerger’s disease
Males who smoke or chew tobacco.
What are the treatment goals? Buerger’s disease
There is no cure, only symptoms control: teach clients to stop smoking Dress appropriately for the weather and try to reduce life stressors.
Clincial priority for Buerger’s disease list 3?
1) Thrombosis of the superficial veins may occur as blood vessels swell.
2) Smoking cessation is the mainstay therapy. This will stop the disease in most cases.
3) Amputation is required if severe ischemia occurs.
