Women over 21 didn’t get the vote until 1928, 1918 representation of the people act gave the vote to men over 21. the war didn’t get women equality.

The Representation of the people act?

A

Feb 1918, women over 30 who occupied property were allowed to have the vote. Was seen a success. Women under the age of 30, had to wait 10 years until they were allowed to vote at 21. This was done in 1928.

A

Emily Davison ran out in front of the Kings horse at Derby in 1913. She became a Martyr (Someone who is willing to die for there cause).

A

Women went on hunger strikes, therefore the government began force feeding because they didn’t want women to die. It would make the government look bad. ‘Cat and mouse act’ introduced?

A

Women were released for prison when ill to get better. When better they were taken back in. This stopped women dieing in prison.
