It is our body’s fundamental movement pattern
What does the breath do for a workout?
fire up core, stabilize spine, transfer loads more effectively through entire body
Inhale to set up
exhale to execute
inhale when it’s easy
exhale when it’s hard
inhale slowly through the nose
exhale through mouth
inhale expand the ribcage
exhale draw ribcage down and in
belly breath
practiced in yoga, belly rises and falls with the breath
diaphragmic breath
belly rises and ribcage expands laterally while chest remains still, relaxed exhale
activated core in diaphragmic breath
belly rises and ribcage expands laterally while chest remains still, forceful exhale through mouth and core engages
staccato breath
inhale 4 counts, exhale 4 counts, short and quick, very common for the hundreds
