- depth, dont want shallow
- oxygen saturation, 94% and above according to royal college of physcians copd 88-92.
- accessory muscle. Struggle.

what can alter the rhythm of breathing?
A
- pnuemothorax, collapsed lung
- pain
- infection
- hemothorax, blood taking up the cavity

why do we not want shallow breathing.
A
as it means youre breathing faster and therefore not as much o2 coming in or co2 going out therefore poor ventilation.

If a pt is using accessory muscle why does it mean theyre struggling
A
as kemo receptors see the increase in co2 so the cns makes accessory muscles go.

- wheeze (bronchioles could be inflammed)
- gurgle (fluid)

what could gurgling in breathing be a sign of?
A
heart failure
