Brachium Flashcards
What nerve supplies forearm flexion in anterior arm?
Muculocutaneous nerve.
What nerve does forearm extension on posterior arm?
Radial nerve.
What 3 muscles are in anterior portion of arm?
Biceps brachii.
Coracobrachialis.
Brachialis.
What muscle is on posterior side of arm?
Triceps brachii.
Origin of long head of biceps brachii?
Supraglenoid tubercle of scapula.
What is origin of short head of biceps brachii?
Coracoid process of scapula.
What is insertion for both long and short head of biceps brachii?
Radial tuberosity.
What innervates biceps brachii?
Musculocuteanous nerve.
What are the actions of biceps brachii?
Supinates forearms.
Is simple forearm flexor when elbow is extended and forearm is supinated.
The long head is the stabilizer of glenohumeral joint.
What is the origin and insertion of coracobrachialis?
Coracoid process of scapula.
Inserts on medial surface of middle humerus.
What innervates coracobrachialis?
Musculocuteanous nerve.
What does coracobrachialis do?
Flexes and abducts the humerus @ glenohumeral joint.
Brachialis origin and insertion?
Origin: distal half of anterior humerus.
Insertion: ulnar tuberosity and anterior surface of coronoid process.
What innervates Brachialis?
Musculocuteanous nerve.
Action of Brachialis?
Flexes the forearm at the elbow in any position. Controlled relaxation during extension of forearm to gently place a glass upon the table.
