what is the maternal deprivation theory about?
-he argued there was a link between maternal deprivation and deviant behaviour.
-believed if you didn’t have a good relationship with your mother in the first 5 years of your life there was a higher liklihood of juvenile delinquency, emotional difficulties and anti-social behaviour
-if you don’t get this attachment it leads to an inability to form meaningful emotional relationships leading to affectionless psychopathy
what does affectionless psychopathy mean?
an inibility to show affection or concern for others where you act on impulse with no regard towards the consequences of your actions
