Small bowel: increased volume of feces, uncommon to have mucus in feces, melena may be seen, normal frequency of bowel movements, tenesmus is rare, weight loss is common

Large bowel: normal to decreased volume of feces, common to have mucus in feces, hematochezia may be seen, increased frequency of bowel movements, tenesmus is common, weight loss is rare
