Bony Palpitations Flashcards
Palpitate the posterior superior iliac spine
Bony prominence at the posterior end of the iliac crest. Lies just above the back dimple
Palpitate the iliac crest
The hip bone
From the anterior superior iliac spine to posterior superior iliac spine (know it from the front and back)
Palpitate the sacrum
5 fused vertebrae beneath the lumbar spine
Palpitate coccyx
deep between the buttocks, the caudal tip of the vertebral column
Palpate ischial tuberosity
bony prominence that takes weight off the body when seated upright. bone feature of the ischium
Palpate the head of the fibula
below (inferior) to the the lateral epicondyle of the femur. .
Lateral side of the fibula on the proximal part
Palpate Medial Malleolus
medial side of the ankle bone, distal pointed end of the tibia
Palpate lateral Malleolus
lateral side of the ankle bone, distal pointed end of the fibula
Palpate Calcaneus

Anterior, bony prominence at the end of the iliac crest
Palpate the greater trochanter of the femur
large bony prominence: Lateral, at the hip joint so the proximal thigh
Palpate symphysis

proximal anterior end of the tibia
