Support, movement, protection, mineral storage and red blood cell formation

A
Compact bone (strong, resists force in one direction); Cancellous bones (light, shock-absorbing).

Long, short, flat and irregular bones

A
The femur; acts as a lever for movement, long bones also have the rounded bulbous lumps at the end of each side.

A
Muscles attachment and protection (e.g., skull sternum)

A
A bone with various shapes which does not fit the category of the other bones e.g. vertebrae
